This yearâs main Capacity Market auction concluded as early as the second round, with a record closing price of PLN 465.02/kW/year. We successfully secured a Capacity Market contract for one of our battery energy storage facilities.

đ BESS13 in Ć»agaĆThe BESS13 project, located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, with a capacity of 100.2 MW and energy storage of 200.4 MWh, will strengthen the stability of the power grid in the western part of the country.
đŹÂ âDespite the unfavorable availability adjustment factor for battery energy storage systems in this yearâs main Capacity Market auction, we decided to participate once again. The Capacity Market remains the only mechanism that realistically guarantees a place for energy storage in the National Power System (KSE). A Capacity Market contract provides a stable and guaranteed source of revenue for storage facilities, which is a crucial element in building the financial model for this type of investment. We hope that the next edition of the Capacity Market will fully recognize the significant role that energy storage will play in our power system,â says Jacek WiĆniewski, CEO of Hynfra Energy Storage.
Given the inevitable phase-out of conventional power plants and the growing share of energy produced by non-dispatchable renewable energy sources, energy storage systems are an essential component of the future Polish power system. They will ensure grid stability and enable balancing of the KSE, which is largely based on non-dispatchable RES, by storing surplus generation and then releasing the stored energy during periods of increased electricity demand. Therefore, increasing the priority of energy storage development in Poland and supporting such investments should be one of PSEâs key actions.
The total volume of capacity obligations offered this year amounted to 6,887.639 MW. The final results will be approved by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office in January 2026.
